2022 ABUAD Divestment Plan

As part of ABUAD’s commitment and efforts to shift to 100% renewable energy by 2025 the University has intensified the production of cassava, sugarcane, and other biofuels in the ABUAD Farm. All these efforts are contained in the University Energy Utilities and Sustainability Plan (2020 – 2030, renewed Annually). In order to consolidate on the divestment plan, in 2022, ABUAD continues its collaboration with IITA and Japan partner to improve Cassava Production.

Energy Waste Management via Energy Audits

The University has put in place several energy audits and research studies on energy efficiency that will continue to guide the implementation of the Energy and Utility Sustainability Master Plan Reviewed 2022

In 2022, the Directorate of Works and Maintenance Services of the University continues to perform the quarterly energy audits and energy profile checks. From the energy audits performed on buildings the director and his team already have an idea of the patterns to look for in energy profiles on weekly basis. When relevant plots are made and peak periods are determined, the percentage of the energy used during off-peak periods determines the level of energy wastage and to what extent.
