The UNESCO Chair in Entrepreneurship Education and Sustainable Development aims to promote entrepreneurial culture, capacity building, training and empowerment within and outside ABUAD. The UNESCO chair was established in 2019 and has continued to be operation in 2020, 2021, and with substantial deliverables in 2022.
Through research, training, community engagement and societally-relevant publications, the Chair serves as a hub facilitating collaboration between high-level, internationally recognized researchers and teaching staff of the University and other institutions both within and outside the country.
In a bid to promote entrepreneurship development and empower local farmers in Ekiti State, the Chair organizes an annual agri-business and agri-preneurship training program for local food producers. This free training course is conducted at the expansive ABUAD Enterprise Farm. Participants are drawn from 16 councils of the state and are trained in the establishment on processing of mango, cassava, moringa and fishery. At the end of the training, each successful candidate got start-up seedlings and N150,000 cash.
