Afe Babalola University Planetarium

ABUAD Planetarium is the first Planetarium in Nigeria, the second in West Africa and second largest in Africa. The planetarium was established to enhance the educational experience for students and members of the public and also to expose our community to amazing events of our universe and to help the community discover the sky, and become encouraged making new friends of the constellations. The Planetarium was commissioned by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Ph.D, GCFR on Monday May 21, 2018 and has since been opened free to members of the public.

The Planetarium was borne out of the love and passion of the Founder of the University, Aare Afe Babalola, CON, SAN for Astronomy. The planetarium is also equipped with an astronomical observatory.
