The University maintains a Food Bank which collects non-perishable food donations which is accessible for free to all students in need. The Food bank is re-equipped periodically and still in place in year 2020 and beyond.
The ABUAD Food Bank tackles food insecurity on campus by providing free food and related items to students and staff experiencing food shortage and are in need of assistance. In the course of one year, the ABUAD Food Bank serves over 6,000 students, many with families, and distributes over 50,000 Kilograms of food. All undergraduate, graduate and professional students, as well as faculty members at ABUAD, are eligible to use the Food Bank. In addition to the Food Bank, the Office of the Bursar provides financial literacy training programs to students and faculty throughout the session in order to address root causes of food insecurity. The training program provides simplified knowledge on budgeting, financial planning, affordable and healthy meal planning, and food sourcing.
