2023 ABUAD’s Low Carbon Energy used Measure

ABUAD has developed an Energy and Utilities Sustainability Plan and Energy Conversation Plan outlining the university’s commitment.  In line with this Plan, the Directorate of Works measures the amount of low-carbon energy used across the university. The current levels of low-carbon energy usage at ABUAD ensure sustained awareness of energy efficiency and conservation.  On average, the Renewable generation involved in the University’s electric supply is 100%. The fully compliant process with a 100% renewably powered University has since been realized.

ABUAD is noted as the cleanest University in Nigeria. Its electricity supply is 100% clean from renewable sources, and ABUAD and its neighboring communities consume 100% of it. Energy is generated from hydro, solar, and other renewable sources. ABUAD is the first University in Nigeria to comply with 100% clean standards for electricity, as recorded in its Low-Carbon Measurement effort of 2023.
