University’s Energy Audit

ABUAD, in 2022, as part of its determination to minimize energy wastage, the Directorate of Works and Services of the University has continued to carry out quarterly energy audits and energy profile checks. From the energy audits performed on buildings the director and his team already have understood the energy’s consumption patterns visible in energy profiles on weekly basis. When relevant plots are made and peak periods are determined, the percentage of the energy used during off-peak periods determines the level of energy wastage and to what extent. In 2022, ABUAD, In line with the 2022 Reviewed University Energy Conservation Policy and the 2022 Reviewed Energy and Utility Campus Master Plan, ABUAD conducts energy audits every quarter in 2022 which accumulated to a year under review so as to to ensure that the energy consumption in the University remains as per the expected set level and that no energy is wasted unnecessarily. The areas of energy conservation and saving are identified through the process of audit.

In April, 2022, during the maiden edition of the Forest Management and Certification Programme, The Founder of ABUAD, Aare Afe Babalola SAN and the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Dr Kayode Fayemi encouraged the farmers and the entire public to continue to involve in re-afforestation and tree planting of trees so as to preserve the ecosystem from carbon emission and green house gases.
